This guide explains how Gestalt 360 (G360) works and how to get the most from it. Keep it handy as you work through your programme.

The questionnaire

There are 80 statements, four for each function. For each one, choose how true it is for your business today: 1 strongly disagree, 2 disagree, 3 neither, 4 agree, 5 strongly agree. Answer for how things really are, not how you would like them to be. An honest baseline is what makes your progress visible later.

You can stop and come back at any time. Your answers are saved as you go. Until you submit, your Score, Disk and Report are marked Draft.

When all 80 statements are answered, press Submit Scores. G360 checks for any you have missed first. Once submitted, your scores are locked: they are the starting point your progress is measured from. If you need to change them, ask us and we can reopen them.

Your results

  • G360 Score: each function is scored out of 100 and rated Critical (25 or below), Urgent (26 to 50), Important (51 to 74) or Good (75 and above). Each domain and the business as a whole get an overall score too.
  • G360 Disk: all twenty functions in one picture, each filled ring by ring as capability grows. Gaps stand out at a glance.
  • Balance matrix: compares working on the business (Governance and Support) with working in it (Marketing and Operations), and serving existing clients (Operations and Support) with winning new ones (Governance and Marketing). It places you as an Executive, Manager, Salesman or Operator, or balanced.
  • G360 Report: a summary of all of the above that you can print or save.

Seeing your progress

Each action you complete closes part of the gap between a function’s starting score and 100%. Most functions have four actions, so each one is worth a quarter of the gap; G2’s two actions are worth half each, and G3’s and G4’s three actions a third each. Progress shows as stripes on the Disk, as “20% → 60%” on your G360 Score, and on the Home page, where the Overall G360 Score shows how close the business is to 5 out of 5 in all twenty functions, with where you started beneath it.

Your programme

Improvement comes from working on the right few things, steadily. The Program List tab shows the functions still to be taken on. Two tags help you choose: Needs attention marks your three lowest scores, and Quick win marks the three closest to 100%, which need only a little work to close off. A good approach is to start with what needs most attention, then take a quick win so you can see yourself moving forward.

Add the functions you will work on to your Task List (double-click, or select and press Add), put them in priority order and submit. Each function’s standard actions are added to your Action List. Keep to one or two functions at a time; the aim is that, in time, every function is taken on and the Program List is empty.

Your Action List

You only need to do three things; G360 works out the rest.

  • Commit: choose one person responsible and a date to finish by.
  • Check in: move the progress slider and, if you like, add a line on what is next or what is in the way.
  • Close: press Mark completed and add one line under “What changed?”.

G360 shows each action’s health (on track, due soon, overdue, or stalled when there has been no update for 14 days), records who changed what and when, and keeps the history of every action. The summary line above the list filters it when clicked. Actions you put On hold or complete move out of the Active view and can be seen in the Hidden and Completed views.

Worksheets

Each action has its own worksheet, numbered the same way (for example G2.2 Vision Statement Design). A worksheet opens once you have committed to the action: look for the worksheet button in the action’s details, or the ▤ icon on the Action List. Worksheets are added as they are finished, so not every action has one yet.

Work through the questions on screen; your answers are saved as you type, and a worked example is there if you need it. You can also print the worksheet on A3, blank or with your answers. When every item under Done when is ticked, G360 suggests you mark the action completed.

The AI Business Coach

With the AI Business Coach plan, open the AI Coach tab at any time. Your coach can see your results, programme and worksheet answers. It can explain your results, help you choose priorities, plan actions with owners and dates, help you with your worksheets, and update your progress when you tell it what you have done. It always asks before changing anything. It is not a lawyer, accountant or financial adviser; press Ask for a person whenever you would like to talk to someone from Operational Excellence.

Working with a coach

If your coach has given you a G360 login, you will see your results and your Action List, and you can update progress and fill in your worksheets between sessions. Your coach can see your answers and help you with them, and decides what else is switched on for you.

Your account

Under My account in G360 you can change your password and, if you hold the subscription, manage billing, update your card, switch plans or cancel.
